A
veteran CVBL backstop with a championship pedigree,
Steve Criss was an invaluable late-season addition to
the Expos' 2008 roster, and will no doubt continue
his ways in 2009. Criss is an alumnus of
no less than five CVBL championship teams, having
won the title with the
Plattsburgh Cardinals in 1992, 1993, 1994, and
1997, before joining the Altona Hornets for their
1998 championship run. He's picked up plenty
of personal hardware as well: Criss earned league
MVP honors in 1995 and 1996, and was named playoff
MVP in 1992, 1994, and 1997.
Criss' athletic
prowess is by no means limited to the diamond: in
addition to baseball, Steve was a member of the
football team at
St. Lawrence University. His accolades
also extend to the realm of officiating, as Criss
has served as a referee at five New York State high
school basketball Final Fours.
When he isn't seeking
an outlet for his athletic aptitudes, Steve works in
Medicare Insurance and Purchasing for
Triangle Electric. Steve currently resides
in Plattsburgh with his wife Amy and two children:
Ryan, 9, and Rachel, 7. |
