Chip Cummings Field
2008 will mark the first season that SUNY
Plattsburgh's phenomenal Chip Cummings Field is used as a CVBL
venue. The field is a direct result of the generosity of
Mr. C. Thomas Cummings, and his desire to provide a top-notch
playing field for a rejuvenated Plattsburgh State program.

The field was completed for the 2003 season,
and has proven to meet the lofty standard set by Mr. Cummings.
Chip Cummings Field is set back in the Rugar Woods behind
Plattsburgh State's fieldhouse, providing a scenic Adirondack
backdrop for the ballpark. "The Chipper" features a
subterranean brick-reinforced batter's area and pitcher's mound
in support of an advanced drainage system; a superbly leveled
natural turf playing field; and a voluminous outfield, with
dimensions of 350 feet to each corner and 402 feet to dead
center.

Amenities offered at the field include a pair
of professional-grade, two-player bullpens; spacious in-ground
dugouts; a sizable amount of comfortable painted aluminum
bleacher seating (as well as the opportunity to watch the game
picnic-style from the natural hill along the area beyond the
third-base line); a dual-level (enclosed and open-air) press box
with public address capabilities; and a large, sophisticated
scoreboard in the midst of a topiary beyond the left-center
field fence.

Lauded as the finest ballpark in the region,
and one of the best in Division III collegiate baseball, Chip
Cummings Field has stood as a point of Pride for Plattsburgh
State teams since its construction. As a new CVBL
franchise, the Meron's Expos are both quite honored and
quite fortunate to call the field their home.
