With One Week to Play, Expos Look to Enter
Playoffs on a Roll |
Article Posted July 15, 2010
The Meron's Expos have won ten straight CVBL
contests. They've taken sole possession of first place in
the CVBL, and hold it with two games left to play. For the
Expos, however, it's all about momentum. A bad showing
this Sunday could cost them playoff position and even a bye, but
the most pressing goal right now is to end the season on a high
note, and carry it into the playoffs full-bore.
From that standpoint, the Plattsburgh
Cardinals represent the perfect opportunity to reinforce the
confidence the Expos have built over the past few weeks.
The Cards are a great team known for playing their best in big
games. Moreover, they're the only team in the CVBL against
whom the Expos have failed to notch a win this season.
Playoff positioning obviously cannot simply
be dismissed altogether as a concern. Ultimately, however,
the goal in the postseason is to win your last game. The
Expos can go a long way toward establishing that mindset with a
strong performance this weekend.
