Expos At .500 through Two Series |
Article Posted May 18, 2010
The Meron's Expos have experienced both
frustration and elation at the outset of their 2010 campaign.
Week One saw the 'Spos drop a pair of tough two-run games to the
Plattsburgh Cardinals; both teams came out swinging, and Meron's
Nick Lamica made a
spectacular play on a would-be homerun to center field, but the
Cardinals held off a shorthanded squad to sweep the
doubleheader.
After snow cancelled Week Two league-wide,
the Expos came out swinging versus the Fourth Ward A's.
Both games ended after five innings via the 10-run rule.
The Expos knocked no less then eight balls out of the park,
including a pair apiece by
Mark Passino and Ben Clark (in his CVBL debut) and a
walk-off grand slam by Will Flynn. The 'Spos cruised on
the mound, as Mike Bergman
and Clark combined to hold the A's to a single run in the first
game, while Nick Lamica achieved the same result by himself in
the second.
While the Expos' record places them in the
top half of the CVBL standings, the team aspires to more, and
will try to continue their winning ways this coming weekend at
the
Timberjaxx. With a number of additional personnel
arriving to fill out the roster, the Expos should be near peak
form on Sunday.
